Our School

St Mary's Campus Maitland is the senior campus of the All Saints College structure.

Students from the two Year 7-10 co-ed campuses (St Peter's Maitland and St Joseph's Lochinvar) come to St Mary's to study the Stage 6 curriculum along with a number of students from other local high schools. Steeped in the Dominican tradition, and with the motto of Integrity, St Mary's is a community that promotes integrity, justice and excellence within the Catholic tradition. The values of faith, knowledge and service are supported and developed in the learning and service to the community that students come from and students are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of curricula and co-curricular activities.

Through challenging experiences in the classroom and, as active members of the school community, students are given the opportunity to develop a keen sense of personal and social responsibility, critical ability, creative responses and an appreciation of the complexity of the world around them. Operating within a 4-day formal teaching structure, St Mary's provides a senior education which is relevant and vibrant.

The school remains very conscious of the need for quality teaching and learning and there is a strong focus on the use of technology. A rich, broad and balanced curriculum has been developed to satisfy the qualifications for the HSC and help students develop their knowledge, skills and understanding to enable them to succeed as learners. HSC results continually confirm our tradition of successfully encouraging students to achieve outstanding results across a wide diversity of academic disciplines.

Results are not just impressive at the top, but consistently good across the whole candidature and are the product of the commitment and diligence of our students as well as our teaching staff who continue to make every effort to inspire and support students to pursue academic excellence and to gain confidence and discipline as learners. Where students are identified as having special needs, they are provided with individual programs to support them in their progress and thus do well.

The Campus also provides a well supported Vocational Education and Training program and works closely with TAFE to support students in their chosen endeavours. St Mary's has developed a Trade Training College through funding from the Federal Government to further develop curriculum facilities for students to achieve to Certificate III level in Hospitality and Electro technology and Metals and Engineering.

Involvement in the extracurricular activities is also a feature of life at St Mary's Campus. The chance to pursue a host of local, state and national pathways takes a high priority as students are keen to engage in sport, music, drama, debating, fundraising and community service activities. St Mary's s also encourages shared leadership responsibilities, with all students challenged to exhibit the highest standards of involvement through positive actions and relationships.

St Mary's Campus Maitland accepts girls and boys, Years 11-12, from the areas of Beresfield, Dungog, Gresford, East Maitland, Kurri Kurri, Maitland, Branxton, Cessnock, Lochinvar and Rutherford.
