Tim Cleary announced College Principal of All Saints College, Maitland

Under a new leadership structure for the school, Tim Cleary was yesterday announced the new Principal of All Saints College, Maitland.

Commencing in January 2018, Mr Cleary will lead the two campuses, St Peter’s and St Mary’s, under a one unified leadership model which will include two heads of campus and three assistant principals – welfare, Faith/mission and learning – that will lead across the College.

From 2002 – 2016, Tim was the Principal at St Augustine’s College Sydney. In January 2017 he was appointed as CEO to the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.

“We are looking forward to Tim joining the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle," said Dr Michael Slattery, Director of Catholic Schools.

"With 30 years of experience in the independent sector, Tim is a visionary leader, a great community builder and has high-quality education standards. These attributes are essential to supporting All Saints College move forward to develop St Mary’s and St Peter’s campuses under the umbrella of College, enhancing the continuum of education across Years 7 – 12.

"Current campus principals Bernard Burgess (St Peter’s) and Phil Tobin (St Mary’s) will remain campus leaders until the end of 2017. Bernard and Phil, along with other executive leaders have been given the opportunity to apply for the positions of new College Heads of Campus and Assistant Principals. 

"Under the recommendations of the Study into the Provision of Secondary Education, commissioned by Bishop Bill Wright, St Joseph’s College, Lochinvar is being developed as a Years 7 – 12 College and the diocese is developing a new secondary school, St Bede’s Catholic College, Chisholm, which will commence in 2018. This has led to the development of combining St Peter’s (7-10) and St Mary’s (11-12) Maitland into a college structure under the All Saints banner. The quality and traditions of the campuses will remain, however students and staff will now benefit from belonging to a college community that spans Years 7 – 12.”
