St Peter’s Primary School, Stockton came alive with colour, creativity and community at this year’s Shine Bright event, a celebration of student learning and talent that truly lived up to its name.
Throughout the night, students took to the stage for a series of live performances that reflected their individual interests and collective hard work. Each Tuesday during the term, students explored a passion area in interest-based groups, deep-diving into elements of performance and the creative arts. These included Drama, Monologues, Guitar, Ukulele, Choir, Dance, Indigenous Performance, Boomwhackers and Bucket Drumming.
Each group collaborated to prepare a piece for Shine Bright, learning not only new artistic skills but also teamwork, confidence, discipline and the joy of shared achievement.
The evening also featured a student art gallery, showcasing works that students created throughout the term. Visitors walked through displays filled with imagination and individuality, from detailed drawings to bold sculpture pieces. The gallery gave families a chance to see what students have been learning and creating in the classroom and the pride was clear on every child’s face.
One of the most popular parts of the night was the silent auction of collaborative class artworks. Each class worked together on a large piece of art, combining their skills and creativity into a shared masterpiece. These artworks were auctioned off throughout the evening to support the school.
Shine Bright was more than just a showcase, it was a celebration of what happens when students are given space to express themselves, work together and grow in their passions.
