Catholic Schools ANZAC Commemorations

30th April, 2026

Across our Catholic school communities, students, staff and families came together with their local communities to share in the ANZAC spirit – commemorating, honouring and cherishing the service and sacrifice of our defence personnel.

From attending community ceremonies and marching proudly alongside veterans to hosting reverent inschool liturgies and services, our students engaged deeply with the meaning of ANZAC Day. These moments offered powerful opportunities to reflect on courage, sacrifice and the hope for peace.

One of the most moving aspects of this year’s commemorations was seeing senior students walk alongside younger peers, guiding them with gentleness and modelling the values at the heart of our Catholic tradition. Their leadership and unity showcased the strong connections across our schools.

Through prayer, reflection and participation, our students not only learned about the legacy of the ANZACs – they lived out the compassion, respect and gratitude that define our communities.
