Early this term, Holy Family Primary School, Merewether Beach’s community came together to celebrate and farewell their much-loved Principal, Ann Jackson, in the spirit of family and strong nurturing community that Ann built over her time at Holy Family.
Those in attendance included members of Ann’s family and former colleagues from previous schools, including MacKillop Catholic College, Warnervale.
Coming together in the school hall, students and staff shared words of gratitude, reflection and shared learnings from their time together with Ann – articulating how her presence and leadership created a strong sense of belonging for staff and students.
Ann’s time at Holy Family Primary School was faced with the challenges of the pandemic and infrastructure changes, but as students and staff reflected, her leadership and determination ensured that all at the school had the resources they needed to succeed in their goals.
Students reflected on their many memorable highlights and shared in song to say one last farewell to their Principal. This moment not only provided an emotional farewell, but it also reflected the community and charism of Holy Family Primary School – a place in which everyone is encouraged to love, learn and serve.
