Amy Eccleston from Trinity Catholic College, Adamstown has been recognised with the Excellence in Teaching: Secondary Emmaus Award, celebrating her commitment to high-quality teaching, professional leadership and student success.
As Leader of Learning and a specialist Commerce and Business Studies teacher, Amy is known for her reflective approach to teaching and her dedication to continually improving her practice. She generously shares her knowledge with colleagues, helping to foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism and excellence across the HSIE faculty.
Amy’s engaging and purposeful teaching has seen Commerce and Business Studies become two of the most popular elective subjects at Trinity. Her lessons combine academic rigour with real-world relevance, supported by thoughtful assessment practices that help students achieve strong learning outcomes. Central to her teaching is the belief that every student should feel known, valued and supported through positive and respectful relationships.
Beyond the classroom, Amy leads the HSIE faculty with clarity, organisation and vision. She has played a key role in curriculum development, professional learning and the introduction of senior pathways, while supporting colleagues with high expectations, trust and genuine care.
Alongside her leadership at Trinity, Amy is quietly pursuing a PhD, demonstrating her commitment to lifelong learning and continuous growth. Her dedication extends to the faith life of the college, where she leads with integrity, humility and compassion.
