HALT Recognition Ceremony Celebrates Excellence in Teaching

28th August, 2025

On Friday 22 August, Christine Owen from Holy Family Primary School, Merewether Beach and Erin Jordan from Catherine McAuley Catholic College, Medowie, proudly represented our Catholic Schools at the NESA Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) Recognition Ceremony, held at the State Library of NSW in Sydney. The event honoured the exceptional achievements of educators across the state who have attained HALT accreditation.

Erin and Christine were formally presented with their Highly Accomplished medals by Mr Greg Warren, Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Premier, Parliamentary Secretary for Education and Early Learning, and Parliamentary Secretary for Western Sydney.

The ceremony featured inspiring addresses from guest speakers including Jessica Williams, a Highly Accomplished teacher and proud Murruwarri woman, and Kerrie Quee, a Highly Accomplished teacher and board member of the HALT Association NSW.

Both Christine and Erin are alumni of All Saints College, Maitland, graduating in 2002. Their shared journey has now come full circle recognising their achievement of HALT accreditation in the same year.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Erin and Christine on this significant professional milestone and commend their dedication to excellence in education.
