Our parents, carers and school staff are invited to attend ‘Raising Good Men’, delivered by renowned educator and advocate Daniel Principe.
These engaging and practical sessions will explore the cultural influences shaping boys and young men today, including social media, online influencers, peer culture and broader messages about masculinity. Offered across two locations, Daniel will share evidence-informed insights and practical strategies to help adults stay connected and positively influence boys and young men.
In this session, parents and caregivers will:
- Understand the cultural, digital and social influences shaping boys’ ideas about masculinity and identity.
- Explore the impact of the manosphere, online influencers and peer culture.
- Learn the difference between healthy and unhealthy expressions of masculinity.
- Reflect on the important role parents play in shaping boys’ values, character and relationships.
- Gain practical strategies for maintaining connection and influence during adolescence.
- Build confidence in having conversations about respect, relationships, consent and values.
- Learn how to address harmful attitudes and behaviours while preserving trust and connection.
About the presenter
Daniel Principe is a passionate educator and advocate who works with young people, parents and schools to explore the cultural forces shaping identity, relationships and respect.
Known for his work championing boys and young men across Australia, Daniel creates opportunities for young people to challenge harmful cultural messages and pursue lives marked by courage, empathy and respect. He is a board member of the DART Institute and Wake Up Brother, an ambassador for the Women’s Resilience Centre and Consent Can’t Wait, and a nominee for the 2025 NSW Australian of the Year.
Attendance Information
The presentations are an initiative of the FACE Forum Federation (formerly the Federation of P&F Associations) and are primarily aimed at parents and carers, particularly those of boys aged 9-18 years. However, the content will also be relevant to staff and may assist them to better understand the questions, concerns and perspectives families are bringing to schools in this space.
There are two sessions available:
- Monday 14 September at 6.00pm, St Joseph’s College, Lochinvar
- Tuesday 15 September at 6.00pm, Trinity Catholic College, Adamstown
Both sessions begin with supper and registrations at 5.30pm-6.00pm and the presentations begin
