Polding League

The Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle Boys rugby league team had an outstanding day at the Polding trials in Bathurst. Winning all 5 games and being the most dominant team on the day.
The team were rewarded with 8 players making the possibles vs probable’s game.

Nash Battle, Lachlan Campbell-Wrigley, Lucas Campbell-Wrigley, Kingswood Gill, Reid Tindall and Patrick Houlker-Te Tai all made the Polding side that will travel to Parkes later in the year for NSWPSSA. Jude Berry and Nixon Miller were unfortunate to not make the final team as they played outstandingly on the day.

It is an exciting year for the girls in rugby league as it is the inaugural year to have girls trial as a standalone Polding team.

5 players from the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle Diocese were selected in the possible probable’s with 3 of those girls gaining selection in the Polding squad.
Lucy Smith from Rosary Park Primary School, Branxton showed excellent speed and agility and has been selected as a winger and Imani Leao from St Columban’s Primary School, Mayfield had some really strong runs with the football and has been selected as a front row forward.
