12s League
Well done to the Maitland Newcastle u12s rugby league side for their effort at the Polding trials. The team played great footy all day. Special mention to Braxton Bartolo and Vincent Maxwell for achieving selection into the possibles and probables game. Both boys were outstanding all day and were unlucky not to make the final team. Congratulations to Benji Maslen who was successful in being selected in the Polding team. Benji was a stand out front rower throughout the whole carnival.
11s League
The 11s league were a united team from the onset. All players stepped up a level against each Diocese. 5 players were rewarded with a place in the Polding team – Patrick Houlker Te Tai was elusive as winger out running and sidestepping many of his opponents. Lachlan Campbell Wrigley played strongly in the fullback position running back many kicks and chiming effectively into the backline. Oliver Robey displayed his versatility in the lock position and showed his organisational skills and creativity in attack. Ethan Curry lead the team around in the halfback position and ensured his team moved forward. Nash Battle defended strongly in the second row position and should creative offloading skills when attacking.
