Catholic Schools of Maitland-Newcastle, in partnership with Golf NSW, held its first school holiday sport camp at Sugar Valley Golf Course, West Wallsend.
This program, which spanned over two days, aimed to teach essential movement skills, the golf swing and target alignment, while emphasising power generation, ball flight and trajectory through interactive games.
The camp fostered qualities such as control, focus, concentration and teamwork, offering participants the chance to utilise their skills on the golf course and explore additional opportunities in schools, Jack Newton Junior Golf, and local clubs.
The boys and girls not only developed their chipping, driving and putting skills, they met new friends, had fun and were active all day. We may have seen the next Adam Scott or Hannah Green begin their golfing career!
Catholic Schools have recently partnered with Golf NSW to see more opportunities for our students. School golf camps will be offered in 2026 July and September holidays – stay tuned!
