Sienna Compton from St Bede’s Catholic College, Chisholm has delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 School Sport Australia Swimming Championships, held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre from 26–30 July.
Representing NSW All Schools, the 13-year-old competed in the Multi-Class (S15) 13–15 Years division and took on an incredible 12 events – the most of any swimmer on the NSW team.
Sienna’s remarkable week in the pool saw her crowned School Sport Australia National Champion in seven events:
SSA National Champion:
- 1st – Girls 13-15 50M Freestyle Multi Class (PB)
- 1st- Girls 13-15 100M Freestyle Multi Class (PB)
- 1st- Girls 13-15 200M Freestyle Multi Class (PB)
- 1st – Girls 13-15 50M Backstroke Multi Class (PB)
- 1st – Girls 13-15 100M Backstroke Multi Class (PB)
- 1st -Girls 13-15 200M Individual Medley Multi Class
- 1st – Mixed 13-15 200M Freestyle Relay Multi Class (PB)
SSA National Medalist:
- 2nd – Girls 13-15 50M Butterfly Multi Class (PB)
- 2nd – Girls 13-15 100M Butterfly Multi Class
- 2nd – Mixed 13-15 200M Medley Relay Multi Class
- 3rd – Girls 13-15 50M Breaststroke Multi Class (PB)
- 4th – Girls 13-15 100M Breaststroke Multi Class
Sienna also finished an impressive fourth in the Girls 13–15 100m Breaststroke event.
To cap off an extraordinary championship campaign, Sienna was named Female Multi-Class Swimmer of the Meet, sharing the prestigious honour with a fellow athlete from Queensland after the award ended in a tie.
Sienna’s achievements reflect not only her exceptional talent and dedication in the pool but also her humility, perseverance and commitment to her sport.
