St Michael’s Supports the 2026 St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal

2nd July, 2026

The St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal at St Michael’s Primary School, Nelson Bay, was a wonderful success, with students and families generously donating food, clothing and funds to support vulnerable members of the Port Stephens community this winter.

Representatives from St Vincent de Paul, Claire and Keith, visited the school to receive the donated items, which will be distributed locally to those in need.

As part of the appeal, students enjoyed a Pyjama Day and purchased Milo and muffins before making a gold coin donation. Earlier in the term, the Mini Vinnies Team also organised a cupcake sale, which proved to be a delicious and highly successful fundraising event.

Thanks to the generosity of the St Michael’s school community, a total of $735 was raised, in addition to a significant collection of food and clothing donations.

The school extends its sincere thanks to all students, families and staff who supported the appeal. Their kindness and generosity will help St Vincent de Paul assist more than 1,000 local families who require support during the winter months.
