Holy Family Primary School, Merewether Beach, offers families a supportive, caring and nurturing environment for their children to achieve academically and grow spiritually from Kindergarten to Year 6.

The school is fortunate to have the ocean at its doorstep allowing students to play in the sand, observe the delicate coastal topography, observe the many sea creatures that inhabit the waterways and rock pools and marvel at the beauty of the coastline.
Selected as a school of excellence through the Australian Government’s National Partnership initiative, Holy Family has a strong focus on integrating environmental programs into the school curriculum. The school’s Regional Sustainable Learning Centre facilitates environmental education programs for teachers and students, while the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program gives students the opportunity to spend time in a productive vegetable garden, learning valuable skills and gaining hands-on experience with food production. The school also has a designated wetlands area, free-range chickens, compost bins and recycling facilities.
Holy Family prides itself on excellent academic achievement and student growth in all key learning areas including NAPLAN literacy and numeracy. The school also incorporates music, dance, drama and art with a specialist music teacher, drama group, piano and guitar tuition as well as a school band. Students also have the opportunity to perform in the bi-annual full school musical.
Parents are actively encouraged to participate in Parent Assisted Learning programs and work in partnership with the teaching team to further develop the education of the children at Holy Family.
Holy Family has a modern and engaging educational environment that offers numerous resources for learning in a 21st century setting. Students and teachers have access to SMARTboards, iPads, laptops and computers in every classroom, providing a stimulating and adaptable learning environment for all students. Implementing the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program for all students in Years 4 to 6, students also participate in a weekly lesson coding class.
There are a number of student welfare programs operating in the school including, You Can Do It and Seasons. The school also plays an important role in the community with the school's Mini Vinnies Group carrying out a variety of charitable work on a local, national and international level.
Holy Family has an onsite OOSH facility offering quality before and after school care for up to 45 students per day. A former classroom has been refurbished as a result of a Federal Government Grant giving students a wonderful space to play, enjoy structured craft activities, quiet reading areas and games.
