St Mary's Primary School, Warners Bay, is a systemic Catholic school in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle creating a safe, welcoming and caring environment where students are encouraged to become lifelong learners.

The school strives to develop a love of learning in every child by encouraging students to value the opportunities that are made available to them. The school provides rich teaching and learning experiences where students can strive for academic excellence in all key learning areas and pursue interests in a range of co-curricular activities.

St Mary’s gives students access to modern resources including SMART Board technology, a computer laboratory, a well-resourced library, electronic devices for Years 5 and 6 and access to IT programs such as Lexia, Mathletics and Reading Eggs.

St Mary's gives students a well-balanced education through participation in a myriad of cultural, creative and sporting events. Students are able to join a variety of groups that cater for a wide range of interests such as games club, craft club, gardening group, guitar group and other social activities. Other extra-curricular activities include environmental groups, interschool chess, debating, art competitions, incursions and excursions.

St Mary’s offers a range of internal and external sporting opportunities at local, regional, diocesan and state levels including soccer, netball, rugby league, AFL, rugby, swimming, athletics, cross country and cricket. Students have the opportunity to compete in cricket gala days, join an intensive swimming program and participate in a variety of clinics delivered from sporting organisations.

The school plays an important role in the local community by supporting various community initiatives, attending local events such as the ANZAC dawn service at Speers Point and supporting fundraisers for those in need. St Mary’s is also involved in a substantial Landcare Environmental Program, under the guidance of Warners Bay Landcare, where students organise a number of environmental initiatives throughout the year.

The school strongly believes in the importance of the wellbeing of their students, parents, staff and community with a focus on the ‘You Can Do It’ Program under the framework of KidsMatter. The school also celebrates ‘Wellbeing Week’ once each term and maintains a continual focus on mindfulness in all aspects of school life throughout the year.

A Before and After School Care service is provided to St Mary’s students by YMCA. It caters for all students each morning from 6.30 - 8.15am and each afternoon from 2.45pm - 6.00pm.

Students of St Mary's Primary School, Warners Bay, are encouraged to continue their Catholic education by attending St Mary's Catholic College, Gateshead or St Paul's Catholic College, Booragul.
